Kids Developmental Services Early Intervention Teams consist of families, preschools or child care centres, and professionals. Your child’s team starts with you and the preschool or child care centre they attend. Each member of your child’s team has the same goal – to see your child develop to their full potential in a play-based, natural and developmentally appropriate environment.
Early Intervention Team members include children, their families, an Alberta certificated teacher; and may include early childhood intervention specialists such as speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, Family support specialists, developmental assistants, practicum students as well as the community preschool or child care center the child attends. Our multidisciplinary as well as interdisciplinary approach, ensures that every member of your child’s team is familiar with your child’s goals and areas of growth, and can therefore support them in a variety of ways.
Programming will include classroom support and each child will have an Individualized Program Plan, written by a Certificated Teacher and supported by early intervention therapists.
Programming is based on the results of standardised assessments; parent and teacher anecdotal information; classroom observations; and educational goals that identify the diverse learning needs of the child.
